Submitting your application online for an ETIAS Visa and getting rejected is tough,
but fortunately the reason will be stated too, therefore you can write an appeal to that response in case you think it was not fair.
If it was fair then you can reapply when you collect the documents you need.
What is the ETIAS Visa?
A relatively new concept is ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System).
This electronic system will keep track of visitors that will enter and exit the Schengen countries.
You will only need 1 document to apply for ETIAS, and that is your passport.
In itself the passport already includes a picture of you, the part under the picture that is readable by a passport reading machine and the electronic passport chip which can be found in the cover page of your passport at the bottom (this one is not necessary).
How long does it take to get an answer from the ETIAS staff after submitting your application?
You will be informed for the status of your ETIAS within minutes. If it is approved, you will receive a CONGRATULATIONS!
If not, you will be told that it has been denied and the reasons why.
Do you need to apply for the ETIAS or Schengen Visa?
People are confused about who will need to get the ETIAS Visa and who has to continue using the Schengen one.
ETIAS is an electronic travel authorization who has not yet gone in the market.
People who can already travel through Europe have to get the ETIAS Visa, whereas those who can’t visit Europe have to get the Schengen Visa.
Do you need to take the ETIAS authorization with you when you travel?
The answer to that is yes. Also, if you are authorized an ETIAS, it will be valid for three years or until the expiry date of your passport.
If you are not given authorization you will also get an answer with the reasons why.
ETIAS visa will be the newest and easiest form of moving freely among Schengen States.
